Hello fair bees – how goes it? We’re totally buzzing this Monday morning, because we’re writing this post in an endorphin induced state after attending Sweatlife Festival at the weekend, you see.
“What’s that?” you say. “A festival? So tents, mud, lots of cheap warm cider, hangovers and extememely pleasant port-a-loo experiences?!”
Um actually, no. Because we’ve joined the ever-increasing ranks of Fitness Festival Fans, so we didn’t need any of the above thanks very much (not that we’re ever averse to cider – chilled is better though tbh, and if you can throw in a dash of honey, we’re sold…).
For those of you not yet familiar (believe us, you will be), the Fitness Festi is honestly taking the world by storm, and we’re knee deep! Let’s face it, a few years ago, the thought of donning your workout gear and throwing yourself around in time to music without a drink and one hour’s sleep would be unheard of, correct? INCORRECT my buzzy little friends, and here’s why…..
As well as larger festivals, there are lots of group fitness classes held in parks around the country. Above: You can hold your ‘plank’ at least a few more seconds when there is someone watching!!
Fitness Festivals are a great way of meeting like-minded and fun people
Did you know, apparently more and more people are meeting their significant others through fitness, not to mention countless friendships? It actually makes sense doesn’t it, because you’re surrounded by fun people that like the same sort of things, and there’s nothing quite like jumping around, sweating profusely, to break the ice. Perhaps you can even offer the object of your affections a swig of your ice cold Just Bee, now that will get them talking!

If you love exercise, what can be better than endorphins a go-go?
Yes throwing shapes to Lady Ga Ga on a beer-sticky dancefloor in your best stilli’s (ok, for you girls anyway) has its’ place, but nothing beats the high you get from doing something like Rave Yoga (YES that’s a thing, and it’s happening this Saturday at SWEATLIFE, see below!) or high impact cardio like boxing, or a bootcamp. Trust us, it’s like nothing else, yes it’s challenging but you leave with a spring in your step (well once you’ve picked yourself up from the floor anyway).
Who DOESN’T want to do yoga with a full face of glitter face paint???
Or hair braids, or in a mad wig? There’s nothing more fun, it’s like being a kid again (but with the benefits of a bigger glitter budget and not having a curfew and things). Lots of them even have bouncy castles or playpens with balls – sign us up now!

We kid you not, we were once shimmying around at 6am (and we’d been to bed and everything!!!) at Morning Gloryville (an amazing morning rave packed full of fitness fans, yogis and lots of healthy smoothies, with no alcohol in sight), and none other than Fatboy Slim came out to spin some tunes! This Saturday, we’ll be raving to Grandmaster Flash, and once again, not in a nightclub, but at a fitness festival!

Those lovely Canadians at lululemon have gone and set up their first ever UK fitness festival, taking place this Saturday! They’ll have everything from endless yoga, classes like Barry’s Bootcamp, KOBOX, Core Collective and more, as well as mindfulness and meditation workshops. All topped off with a Rave Yoga before legendary DJ Grandmaster Flash takes to the floor!
This little number in Wales has a whole host of activities outside of the music, with paddleboarding included! Not only this, but they offer loads of spa treatments too. Now there’s a thought, returning from a festival looking better than when you arrived?!
They offer lessons in Qiqong, the tai chi-like meditative exercise here. If anyone hasn’t tried meditation, take it from us, it’s a challenge but VERY beneficial, and doing it outside at a festival would be out of this world.
They actually do power ballad yoga here! How tremendous! Check this out, it sounds like a total blast. Not only this, they have a whole host of meditation, yoga and massage offerings. It’s not all mud and beer, you see.
Wilderness in Oxfordshire offers its classes on paddleboards. Yep, that means downward dogging on a wobbling board in the middle of a lake. There’s also everything from woodland runs to personal training in the forest.
A whole day dedicated to health, fitness, the very best trainers and classes and an endless supply of delicious, health grub. Brilliant!
